Pride Prejudice & Zombies – Movie Review

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies combines two of my favorite things – Jane Austen and Zombies. PPZ is very similar to the original P&P story-line, but with zombies thrown into the mix (remove fear of Napoleon, add fear of zombies, it totally works!).

First line of of both Pride & Prejudice & Zombies book and the movie…

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.”

If you enjoy a good spoof book or movie – this is definitely a must. Especially, if you are a fan of either. I was a bit worried about the movie, since I LOVED the book; I really had nothing to worry about – this is probably one of the best book to movie adaptations that I have watched. It stayed as true as can be to both books and fans of the BBC P&P will also see a few nods to that series.

PPZ is action packed, hilarious and still a cute love story. Like most spoofs is does get a little cheesy, but I still enjoyed the movie. My favorite part, is usually a character I cannot stand; Matt Smith was amazing as Mr. Collins, his time on screen alone is worth the cost of the movie. I could not stop laughing.
